Lebanon is a land on the brink.
From Beirut’s outskirts to the Bekaa Valley, homes lie in rubble, once-steady jobs have vanished, children wander shelters instead of classrooms, and countless families live in fear of the next attack or displacement. Over 1.2 million people has fled their homes since September 2024.
Among them are long-term Palestinian refugees who have known displacement for generations still without basic rights, still waiting. Lebanon now hosts an estimated 180,000 Palestinian refugees alongside 1.5 million Syrian refugees and millions of Lebanese in need.
In this storm of crisis and collapse, Ihsan Welfare with Muslims Around the Qorld (MATW) is on the ground delivering aid, restoring dignity, and bringing hope back to those living on the margins.
The Heartbreaking Facts & Statistics:
💔 Crushing Poverty: 8 out of 10 Lebanese citizens cannot afford basic necessities like food and medicine.
👨👩👧👦 Displacement: Nearly one million people have been forced to flee their homes due to attacks and instability.
🍲 Hunger: 30% of the population faces severe food insecurity and chronic hunger.
🏥 Broken Services: Vital infrastructure like hospitals and water systems are damaged or non-functional.
⛺️ Extreme Vulnerability: Around 180,000 Palestinian refugees are trapped in camps.
❌ Legal Discrimination: They are legally blocked from working in key professions and denied the right to own property, keeping 80% of the community trapped below the poverty line.
Ihsan Welfare’s Emergency Response
Through the support of donors and partnerships with organizations like Muslims Around The World (MATW), Ihsan Welfare is on the ground providing vital, life-saving aid to families across Lebanon:
📦 Food Packs: 200 food packs filled with essential cookign items like rice, flour, oil, pasta, etc are distributed EVREY DAY!
🍲 Hot Meals: 200 Nutritious hot meals are freshly cooked and delivered daily to those in need DAILY!
🍞 Fresh Hot Bread: 400 packs of freshly baked bread is delivered everyday .
💧Clean Water Access: Water trucks and purification systems are on the ground supplying safe drinking water.
🛏️ Shelter & Warmth: Blankets, heaters, bedding, and materials to rebuild damaged shelters.
🩺 Medical Aid & Hygiene Kits — First-aid, essential medicines, and hygiene support to prevent disease.
In 2024 alone, Ihsan and MATW supported tens of thousands across Lebanon with hot meals, food parcels, medical aid, and clean water, ensuring no family is forgotten.
🇵🇸Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon
Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees have lived through decades of exile, but today, they are reliving the trauma of displacement all over again.
When war and bombardment engulfed Gaza in late 2023, waves of Palestinian families fled once more, seeking refuge in Lebanon and neighbouring countries. Many were those who had relatives already in Lebanon’s overcrowded camps, and now, thousands more continue to arrive, fleeing unimaginable devastation.
According to UNRWA, Lebanon already hosts around 490,000 registered Palestinian refugees, with over 80% living below the poverty line and dependent on aid for survival.
Most live in 12 official camps, including Ain al-Hilweh, Burj el-Barajneh, Rashidieh, Beddawi, and Nahr el-Bared, and dozens of informal “gatherings” across the country.
These areas were never meant to host generations; they are now among the most overcrowded and impoverished places in the region.
How Ihsan Welfare & MATW Are Helping Palestinian Refugees
Ihsan Welfare, in partnership with Muslims Around the World (MATW), has stepped in to fill the void, bringing food, shelter, and dignity to thousands of refugee families in Lebanon.
Our Response on the Ground:
🏠 Furnishing Homes: We provide beds, mattresses, stoves, and essential furniture for displaced Palestinian families so they can rebuild a sense of home after fleeing bombardment.
👶 Orphan Care: We sponsor Palestinian orphans with food, clothing, tuition support, and safe shelter — ensuring they’re not forgotten in the chaos.
🍞 Hot Meals & Food Packs: Together with MATW, Ihsan has distributed hundreds of thousands of meals and food parcels since October 2023 across Lebanon’s camps.
💧 Water & Sanitation: We install water tanks and purification systems in overcrowded camps, preventing disease outbreaks.
🩺 Medical Relief: We supply hygiene kits, medicines, and clinic support for families unable to access hospital care.
